Praise You in the Storm

Sometimes the storm feels to be hitting harder than ever. It has been like that for me the last few days. It’s not stopping me from praising my God. So if your going through a storm, I encourage you to keep on keepin on. Praise God through it all, He is right there with you.

New Wine

Take me further than the eye can see.

Take me to that place where it’s only You and me.

Tell me no lies and all truths.

Promise not to let go.

Hold my hand and hold it tight, make me feel safe in Your arms tonight.

Show me the way You long for me to go.

All I want to do is worship You.

My heart longs for Your embrace.

To see You face to face.

My desire is to please the deepest corner of Your heart.

Let me be the one to know You more.

My existence and future I’ve deposited in Your hands so that Your will be done and not mine;

For I am now always seeking for Your New Wine and Anointing.

Will You Marry Me?

 

As promised this post is on how my fiance, Daniel proposed.

Maybe I should start with a little background on this whole scenario…

Let’s begin with saying that he can’t keep a secret. A few days before he arrived from North Carolina to California we were talking and he told me that he wanted to walk the Rail Trail that is set right in the middle of our town. He would frequently ask if we could possibly walk it when he got here. I would tell him that we would see once he got here, due to the fact that we had many things to do when he arrived. He later said that he wanted to do something very special there. Then I knew what he meant… I then told him that I knew that he intended to propose and that he would have to think of another place.

My friend later starts to give him ideas on how and where to propose. He had it all planned out. Another conversation before he left gave the whole proposal away. We planned to go to San Jose to meet with my high school friends and my eye doctor appointment, so he asked me the day before he left if I was going to look nice that day. I thought to myself… “Why would he ask that question? Shouldn’t he think I look nice everyday?” Then I thought.. “Yeah, he’s proposing”. I knew that I wanted to be surprised and have it be unexpected, I sure wasn’t going to pretend I had no idea what the question was leading to. So I told him that I knew he wanted to proposed that day too… He replied by then exhausted saying “Why don’t you just play stupid?”. I won’t go into details about the later conversation. We left it at that.

He finally proposed Saturday January 31st. Earlier that day we had taken some pictures at the studio and while we waited Danny told me that he had a scavenger hunt set up at the Rail Trail. So we went and started walking for a bit.

The scene was as noted- a homeless person, a couple making out, a kid on his bike, and no signs of a set up scavenger hunt.

Too good to be true. So we are hugging and he tells me that the scavenger hunt began with him and that I had to search him. I hesitated and said no way I was going to search him! That is a dangerous territory! I didn’t know where to begin and I sure as heck was not going to look into his pant pockets. I search sweater pockets first and felt the box on his right pocket. I said no… then he said come on take it out. I said no again… then I took it out and gave it to him.

When I gave him the box he went down on his two knees and said those five words…

“Betty, will you marry me?”

Guess what my answer was? Since I am now engaged, then my answer was a “Yes”.

I didn’t cry when he asked me… I was kinda numb. As we walked a bit down the rail trail I continued asking him if he was sure he knew what he was doing.. he answered he was, among other things. Later as I allowed the whole question sink in, I was filled with emotion, excitement, and anticipation for the upcoming years of my life..

And that my friends was how he proposed!

My Laptop is on Leave

My laptop is at the doctors right now…

I am upset. Not too much of course but things happen. So I will be getting it back by next week after I pay a fee of $125… Its just a baby and already going to the doctor cause it was messed up…

I guess that we just have to deal with things like these as they go.

Life- As I Know It

Nope I am not talking about the board game LIFE. Though it is similar. For those of you that don’t already know…

I’m Engaged!

I will write a separate post about that soon. With that in mind we all know that marriage is a huge step in life and that one must be wise to know what we are doing. Aside from that, there are 101 things that seem to be happening. Relationships, school, job, church life, and so on seem to be running at 100 miles per hour. Seems like I can’t catch up!

Though I do have control at least in one area of my life… that is my relationship with God. Though everything around me is spinning like crazy, I know that my God, my Provider, my Peace, and my Love is right beside me as long as I don’t let go. Though I don’t have much control of the time right now, due to the fact that I have a class in less than ten minutes, I leave you with a promise that I will fill you in on everything else soon!
