Looks Like…

… I’m going to Dallas, Texas this summer!!

Oh yeah! After a long, deliberating and crucial matter of approval.. I managed to get a “YES!”.

This coming June 29th through July 3rd I will be attending YFN (Youth for the Nations) 2009 summer camp. I am so very much looking forward to it. My friend invited me to it and I simply could not pass up the opportunity. When she told me about the event, I was thrilled to think about the blessings I will be receiving when I go. This is my first trip to Texas and I’ve heard some scary stories… summer heat! I think that not only will it be hot because of the weather but… the fire from God’s presence will make it even hotter! I am ready to receive!

I have needed a spiritual refill for a very long time. Sometimes as Christians we need a little something that will spice up our relationship with God. Though we may attend church on Sunday’s, pray at home, and minister outside in the community, ultimately we need to gather with others and allow for God to revive our souls.

yfn09webAs for my friend… this will be the first time I will be meeting her in person! I have known her for over two years now. I met her though Danny. Marge is a beautiful girl who loves the Lord. She has understood the meaning of walking with God. She is currently going to school to be a sign language interpreter and hopefully in the future to a missionary school. Marge is a pastors daughter and is the leader of the youth at her church. The reason I haven’t met her in person is because she lives in North Carolina, and I… in California! Though we haven’t been able to meet, I have gotten to know Marge in a personal sense. She has been a good friend to me and I am grateful to have met such a great person like her. I have few friends that share the same passion as mine in the ways of the Lord. I can’t wait to meet her!

So… looks like I’m going to Texas! Cowboyboots?! I think not!

Lolita Got A New Pair of Shoes

Finally!

She was beginning to shake and was too unstable. Now, finally, she is sporting some new shoes! She is riding just perfectly! Unfortunately, I had to miss out on my English class because I was waiting on her. All worth it!

I feel like my whole blog site is turning into a Lolita blog! I only do it because I am blessed yet I like my adventures with her!

Hope you are all enjoying the nice hot weather here in California!

Have a blessed one!

Bird Poop and Art

birdpoop

Today I…
Woke up to Danny’s voice, as usual.

Went back to sleep.

Woke up at nine.

Took a shower.

Put a load of laundry in the washer.

Did my make-up.

Put some goo(volumizer and hairspray) on my hair.

Did my bed and picked around my room.

Replied to some text messages.

Ate “Arroz con Leche” that Beba made.

Put load into dryer.

Good morning and goodbye to my aunt.

Hopped in the car.

Went to EDD, didn’t find Anna.

Went to Walmart and left Lolita there for an oil change.

Walked to McDonald’s and bought a coffee.

Confirmed to the girl I wasn’t Jeanette’s sister.

Browsed the aisles waiting for Lolita.

Smiled at people, everyone in their own worlds.

Asked if Lolita was ready after waiting forty minutes.

They didn’t work on her.

There was something “dented” and weren’t able to do it.

I was upset.

Got back in Lolita and went to Big-O-Tires.

Four hundred and fifty dollars for new tires.

I’ll have to do some price shopping.

Though about canceling my trip to San Francisco.

My car wasn’t in tip top shape?

Went to Steve and Gesia’s to drop off reservation info.

Called my uncle for car advice.

Finally, Lolita has new oil.

Went through the car wash.

Vacuumed it too.

I forgot to do the windows, I always do.

Went back home, washed some dishes, cleaned some counters.

Put another load in.

Ate leftover spaghetti.

Answered my phone, talked to Julissa.

Ironed my work clothes and put them on.

Said goodbye.

Drove to work.

Realized that bird poop is almost like their art.

They expose it as if it were a masterpiece; white, green, brown, or blue.

Didn’t speed drive today.

Arrived at  my second home; work.

Greetings, greetings.

Smile, wave, nod, and laugh.

Nice to see you too.

Coffee and Torpido’s as a reward.

My fiance calls at work.

I call back.

Our lives a separate way over two thousand miles apart.

Don’t you know I miss you?

Now, blogging on my lunch.

Back to work.

Smile, nod, wave, and laugh.

It’s nice to have you back.

Pump gas, go home, sleep.

Wake up and leave.

San Francisco, here I come.

Ten Things I Love About Him

1. His love and fear for God.

2. His positive outlook on almost everything.

3. His free spirited attitude.

4. His gift with music; bass, guitar, and singing.

5. His elf shaped ears.

6. His constant morning wake up calls.

7. His loyal and trustworthy friendship.

8. His random words and sayings.

9. His ability to make me laugh.

10. His willingness to help others.

Sometimes I have to stop and think of what a great guy I am engaged to. Through the harsh distance and 3 hour difference, I am often overwhelmed by it all that I tend to focus on the negative aspects of him. I am blessed to be with a great guy.

huhuh

Lolita- Attacked

Most of my readers know by now that Lolita was attacked. Why? Because they were the accomplices!

I went to sleep early. As sleepover tradition goes: the first to fall asleep pays the price! I was obviously the first to fall asleep. I woke up in the morning, all was sound and good, everyone was still sleeping. I get out of the shower and they are are all awake. “Good morning Betty” they all say in unison. I said “good morning!”. They said it again, this time I was concerned and looked at them with doubt. I immediately thought… “Lolita!!”. I ran out the door and saw my girl attacked!!

Ironically I had washed my car the day before and now she was all messy!

So here are some pictures.

Fresh Breath

I woke up and needed a breath of fresh air. I opened my Bible.

I didn’t dig in though. I was in a hurry to get to my walking class, followed by my lab class, break time, then work. I’m writing just before I go to work.

I received a gift from my aunt this last Christmas that I honestly haven’t used much. She gave me The Complete Personalized Promise Bible for Women. There is a verse that gave me just what I needed after such a long idle time from ministries.

Romans 12:5,6 NKJV

So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith.

The declaration of faith is as follows

I am a woman with specific gifts, talents and special abilities according to the divine enabling given to me. These are empowered and enhanced through my faith and anointing. I purposefully function in these gifts for the edification of the body of Christ.

So today I start my week with a new perspective. I’ve hidden my talent/ gift from using it for the growth in the kingdom of God. I am ready for a revival in me. I start with using once again what God has blessed me with; to bless others and praise Him.

Rain Dance

I hope it rains. It sprinkled a bit here in town. The smell of the after rain awoke my senses and made me long for more. Though it stopped, I am hoping that it rains down here in town. Rain dance anyone?!

Sergeant Barrera

Today you got promoted to Sergeant! Congrats babe! Corporal was only for a short time, who would have known!

Yesterday you were counting down the hours to your ceremony, now the time has come.

I haven’t been able to pin you for the past promotions and I also get to miss this one due to the distance. I wish you the very best of blessings this year. Your heart is in the right place. I am grateful for your time and dedication in the service. Thank you for your act of patriotism to this country. Keep up your loyalty and integrity in the service. As you know, with promotion in a job, you get more responsibilities.  We are supporting you here and cheering you on! You reap what you sow (Galatians 6: 7-9 ), and so far, you’ve reap blessings and favor! I’m proud of you Sgt Barrera! Hope you like the little card your mom and I sent you!

I love you!

A regular day at work.
